Sports tips: how to repair old injuries from playing sports

Sport Car

If you have an injury currently then you should stop exercising until you have recovered because furthering will make your injury worst. If you have a fracture and you continue to workout you can end up breaking the entire bone instead of just a fracture. You should take you injury seriously and stop exercising immediately. Things that you can do prevent future injury are to stretch, warm up and wear the right shoes at all time. If you fail to stretch, warm up and wear the wrong shoes, you will most likely end up with an injury. This is similar to driving a car without proper fluid level and good tires, something will go wrong.

If you have ever taken an exercising class before, the instructor always teaches you to stretch, warm up and wear the right shoes before you get to work out. Any good instructor will teach you this; however, some people don’t do all of the following and thus resulting in injury. I have seen people running with slippers. How can you run with a pair of slippers with no sole support? I’ve seen some people work out without stretching and warming up, this will sure to cause you great injury.

Whatever injury that you have, you have to get it repair before you continue to work out. This is serious if you still want to ever work out again. If it doesn’t heal on its own, then you should visit your doctor and get it fix. You should follow the regimen giving by your doctor to ensure faster result. You should also take any medication properly giving by your doctor.

The good news is that most minor injury can heal on its own. You just need to give it sometimes. Most minor injury can heal within 1 week to 1 month. During the healing time, you should not work out at all. Everyone has different kinds of injury, but I’m guessing that the most common injury is muscle sore or fractures. These two injuries occurred because people don’t stretch and warm up enough. They do the wrong kind of exercise with the wrong types of movement and thus their body can’t articulate. They put too much stress on their body in one day. They try to do move that they are not ready for or don’t know how to do it correctly. They don’t wear the right kind of shoes. They don’t use the right body mechanic. They use too much weight. There could be so much more reasons but the idea is that most people did something wrong and that caused them injury.

What they can do is learn from their mistake and not do these kinds of things again. Some people are not aware of how much stress they put on their body with certain kinds of exercise or sports. Some people don’t know their anatomy well and thus they twist their body at the wrong angle and that could cause a fracture. People break their back dancing sometimes because they bend their back or other body parts in a way that their body can’t articulate and thus the injury.

Injury like a muscle sore can go away if you stretch it out for a couple of days. If you have pain on your body part, you can try putting a cold ice pack or a hot towel to relieve your pain. You can take Tylenol or Motrin to reduce your pain. You can take benadryl to reduce swellings. If you got a fracture then you can stop working out and let it heal within a month. If you have worse injury then you need to consult with your doctor.

Looking for auto repair Bloomington MN ?

Wherever you are…needing auto repair is never much fun and at times, can be downright stressful. Let’s face it, at one time or another we will always need some kind of auto repair, whether it is just to change out the brakes, or do routine maintenance, or even when something major happens.

The problem is that you need to find the right repair shop in order to keep yourself from getting ripped off. With so many different auto repair shops in Bloomington MN or anywhere, this is probably one of the most difficult decisions you can make. Well, here are some tips to make that much easier.

Tip #1: The first and biggest tip is never wait until your vehicle breaks down to find an auto repair shop, and this is one of the biggest mistakes people make. Their car breaks down, they get into a panic, and they pick the first shop the find in the book or online. Very bad decision.

You need to look around ahead of time in order to find the right shop, and that way you are not picking a shop that is going to take advantage of you in your time of need. One obvious though good way to do this is to simply hop on to your favorite search engine and type in something like: auto repair Bloomington MN (if you live here), or auto repair (etc.) + your city and state and see what comes up.If you find a good shop, and you break down some place close by, in many cases they have a tow truck that will come and get your car and bring it to their shop.

Tip #2: The next tip that you need is that you have to educate yourself about auto repair. Most people unfortunately don’t know a lot on this subject, and wind up getting ripped off because shops can take advantage of your lack of knowledge. One of the biggest things that you need to know is about labor.

Labor costs are one of the biggest variables and expenses when it comes to shops. While this differs from shop to shop, and average hourly labor cost can run anywhere between -0 an hour OR MORE. The safest and most common sensical way to get a sense of what your repair shop should charge you would be to ask around to get a general ballpark idea of what rates for labor should be in your area.

Tip #3: Trust no one right away to do your auto repairs in Bloomington or anywhere. Always check around for a price that will fit into your budget. A good rule of thumb is to call for several estimates, throw out the highest and the lowest one right away, and pick one in the middle that best fits in with what you can afford. There are other tips to help you find the right mechanic as well.

Tip #4: One of the biggest things to look for when choosing an auto repair shop is the ASE symbol. This is a sticker that is issued by the National Institute for Automotive Service and Excellence, and there are strict rules and regulations that have to be met before one is issued. If you find a shop here in Bloomington or wherever you happen to live without one of these symbols, then you should leave immediately.

Tip #5: How an auto repair shop treats you is another indicator as to their quality of services. When you call, or go in, if they speak with you right away, treat you with respect, are friendly and listen closely to your problems, then chances are they are going to take good care of you. If you are ignored, spoken to rudely or with indifference, then leave. If they try to help you discern the problem, give you an accurate assessment, an clear estimate of the costs to repair your vehicle, chances are you are dealing with a reputable shop.

The truth is, without you realizing it, a few queries or phrases can induce techniques for repair shops to boost your auto repair cost. Avoid mentioning about your forthcoming road trip to spend less on auto repair cost. If the said trip is the reason why you want the maintenance completed as soon as possible, it’s much better if you don’t talk about it to your auto technician so you won’t be billed high for auto repair cost. Yes, your issue could be specifically about safety and fixing the car as swiftly as possible just in time for the trip. But on Mr. Mechanic’s side, it only means one thing – ask you with expensive auto repair cost. As a result, your overall auto repair cost became higher. Instead of talking about your planned trip, better focus on your car’s condition and tell the mechanic to restore it.

If you are also contemplating about buying a new car soon, better not mention it to cut back on auto repair cost. Sure you have finances for that next year but can you manage paying for costly auto repair cost today? So avoid from speaking about that if you really want to save yourself from paying high auto repair cost. Here’s a better thing to do: give your mechanic a clear picture how the car problem started. Almost the same to your prior plans, you should never tell the service center that you are going on an expensive cruise and have the car dropped off at your place. When the shop learns that, better say goodbye to low auto repair cost. Their thinking is simple: if you have the cash for a grandiose trip, then you definitely have the capacity to pay more for auto repair cost. So spare that info when talking to your mechanic to enjoy low auto repair cost.

Talking about your family, especially about your son who is going off to college next month, is also a no-no. Exposing this can bring an increase to your auto repair cost. Just like in your planned cruise, the mechanic will easily conclude that if you have money for this, then all the more you have money even for hefty auto repair cost. So you better leave that info to yourself and just talk about how your car will be resolved and how much you need to pay for auto repair cost.

Another no-no in saving on auto repair cost is to say that the problem of your vehicle could be from bad to worse. Perhaps, you say it plainly because you want the mechanic to take action on your vehicle instantly, not considering the effect on auto repair cost. For him, your negative thinking means you are nervous about your car’s condition, so he will encourage you to get other services, thus increasing auto repair cost. After you get the final auto repair cost bill, you won’t feel happy about the repair either. So in spite of what happened to your car, maintain a positive attitude. There is really nothing wrong if you confess to your auto technician that you don’t have much budget for auto repair cost.

Another thing, make sure not to advise your auto technician to “just do whatever” as long as your vehicle gets repaired. When you say that, all the more he has reasons to boost your auto repair cost.

“Just fix it”, which means almost the same to “just do whatever”, is another statement to avoid when saving on auto repair cost. If your timetable is really hectic, chances are you’ll say the same thing, not considering the bearing it will do to your auto repair cost. So to pay low auto repair cost, you should be really careful in checking the details. And in order for the shop to know that you are really mindful about your budget, advise them to communicate with you in case there are additional repairs.

Another tip to save on auto repair cost, avoid questioning if your car already requires new air filter, tires, or brake pads. Perhaps, you think you can cut back on auto repair cost by asking this but the truth is, you cannot. So you might as well keep that question to yourself, and let the mechanic do the evaluation to avoid paying high auto repair cost.

Remember, your aim is to cut back on auto repair cost. So as much as possible do not let the mechanic think that your knowledge about car maintenance is very narrow. Because once the mechanic sees that, he can easily recommend any service, even if unneeded, just to make you pay high for auto repair cost. So might as well ask him if what services are good for your car, considering the age and mileage.

And one more thing, never tell the service center that you will pay the auto repair cost now since you have a credit card with you. So pay only if the repair job is accomplished. But, tell them to contact you for additional repairs so you have an idea that the previous auto repair cost estimate will have modifications.

After reading all these tips, you are now more confident that you will not be charged with high auto repair cost. You don’t really have to pay much on auto repair cost. Although your funds can handle the auto repair cost, you should not let this service center charge you for unnecessary and inefficient repairs.

How to Do Auto Body Repair Work

Auto tips

There are several different ways of doing body work. For instance, simply sanding out rusted areas, nicks or scratches and filling with body filler; cutting out the bad areas and filling the holes with fiberglass sheeting and body filler; or completely removing the part and replacing it. In this article I will explain the first two options.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging

Things You’ll Need:
•   grinder
•   dent puller
•   auto body hammers
•   sandpaper – 80, 120, 150 grit and emery cloth
•   auto body filler with hardener
•   putty knives
•   fiberglass sheeting with hardener
•   respirator
•   gloves
•   safety glasses

Using your dent puller, punch a hole in the center of the dented area and then pop out the area by pulling on the dent puller. Use your body hammer to level out the hole with the body surface.

Use your grinder to grind away all the rust in the surface you are prepping, taking it all the way down to clean metal.

Using your 80-grit sandpaper, sand the entire area, making sure to feather the existing paint at the edge of the work area. Spray the area you have just sanded with a rust inhibitor or rust preventive.

Mix your auto body filler according to manufacturer’s instructions. Apply body filler using your putty knife (size of the knife depends on the area you are working with). Feather out the edges of the putty so that it blends together with the metal. You will not achieve a perfect finish on the first try. Let dry thoroughly.

Apply additional coats of body filler as needed to bring the repair level with the body part (do not apply too much filler as it is very hard to sand off once it dries).

Using your 120-grit sandpaper, sand the area down as smooth as possible. Then use your 150-grit to sand it down a little further. Finally, use the emery cloth to obtain a nice smooth scratch-free surface.

If your repair area is too deep to use body filler alone, or if the car you are working on has a fiberglass body (and there are many makes of cars that have entirely fiberglass bodies). For this you would use fiberglass sheeting to make the repairs with body filler for your finish coat.

Tips & Warnings

•   There are several auto body tools to choose from, depending on the job, so a little bit of research is necessary to find the proper tools for your job.
•   This is not really difficult, but it does take time and effort to achieve a smooth finish
•   Body filler does dry fairly quickly, so apply and smooth out as quickly as possible to avoid lots of sanding.
•   Always use safety precautions when using power tools.
•   Wear a respirator
•   gloves
•   safety glasses
